Three Cuts has been quietly building a reputation as one of Dubai’s go-to dining destinations. It's the insiders restaurant for exceptional steaks, sublime salmon, well thought out cocktails with a side understated glamour. Now, the team is bringing something new to the table, The Hangover Club, a speakeasy-style brunch where excellent food, great vibes, and just the right amount of mischief come together.
"Does Dubai really need another brunch?" we hear you say and usually we'd be inclined to agree with you. But in all our years of being here, we're not sure if we've EVER had food this good at a brunch.
Launched from October 25th, the brunch runs from 1 PM to 5 PM (also a generous reminder of the old school brunch times, we're not for this new three hour brunch styles that have taken over) and is priced at AED 350 for the set menu, with an optional open-bar add-on for AED 225. Which quite frankly in today's economy is a steal, before we even get into how good it actually is. If you're looking for a bit of excitement then the, Fine de Claire oysters are an additional AED 10 each, and their Bloody Joe (their twist on the classic Bloody Mary) is a must-try at AED 50.
The brunch vibe has that easy, refined energy Three Cuts does so well, relaxed yet polished, with music and entertainment expertly curated by Two Five One, the region's new school artist management, music marketing and booking agency, delivering a progressive sonic journey from soulful grooves to golden-hour house. "The Saturday Brunch is our way of redefining Saturdays" says CEO Jason Bassili. “A place where people can enjoy great food, unique cocktails, and good music in a setting that’s social, relaxed, and effortlessly cool.”
And that it is.
We started with their Bloody Joe, quite frankly, one of the best bloodys we’ve had, alongside a few glasses of prosecco for hair of the dog (the table was mildly recovering from the night before). The amuse-bouche arrived with stuffed mussels, served in the half-shell and topped with crisp breadcrumbs. Possibly the most unique way we’ve ever eaten them, delicate, flavoursome, and a perfect start to the meal. From there, we shared the smoked salmon platter, buttery and delicate, it's a pleasant surprise to have salmon this good from a steakhouse and clearly the work of a kitchen that takes its smokehouse seriously.
Next up were the starters, the wood-charred caesar salad, every steakhouse needs a caesar salad, and this is a pleasant take on an old favourite, smoky, crisp, and perfectly balanced. This is nicely balanced with steak tartare with Prunier caviar and crisp breads, stunningly presented, luxurious but not overdone and the beef carpaccio, fresh, light, and of impeccable quality.
By this point, the meal had built up nicely and the hangovers subsiding. With such generous dishes for the starters we recommend a little pause before the heavier mains. We went for the steak frites, cooked perfectly medium, rich with flavour and tender and the Three Cuts burger, another perfectly cooked medium, served with chunky fries that were crisp yet soft inside. Pan-fried salmon is also on the menu, a favourite we’ve had before, delicate and satisfying and we saw some tables order the mushroom risotto which looked visually stunning and full of earthy, comforting flavours.
After all that, we shared the sticky toffee pudding, decadent with cream, ice cream and toffee sauce, gooey, and the ideal end to the meal. The red fruit cheesecake is incredible too, but our stomachs couldn’t manage both.
The vibe at Three Cuts is immaculate, the energy is classy but not chaotic, you won't find guests dancing on the tables here. It manages to feel exclusive yet welcoming, indulgent but not intimidating. Every dish, every cocktail, every detail, from the music to the plating, is a seamless, elevated experience.
This is not just a brunch, this is a brunch for foodies, which quite frankly is a brunch we needed. So if you want a little adventure with your indulgence, a spot where you can start slowly, linger long, and enjoy Saturday the way it was meant to be relaxed, social, and effortlessly luxurious, the Three Cuts is exactly where you need to be. See you there next week.
